Godfrey Mwampembwa, also known as Gado, was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, but has spent much of his career working in Nairobi, Kenya. Gado previously worked for Nation Media Group, and his work has appeared in the Daily News, Business Times and Express, all in Tanzania. Gado, whose work is often satirical and sometimes controversial, is a regular contributor to New African in the U.K., Courier International in France and Business Day and the Sunday Tribune in South Africa.
