Third Point Extends Gains in May

Current and former private investments drove the multistrategy firm’s performance last month.

Third Point’s private investments strategy continues to drive its multistrategy fund.

Third Point Offshore, headed by Dan Loeb, added 1.4 percent in May and is now up 14.8 percent for the year. This compares with a 12.6 percent gain for the S&P 500, including dividends reinvested, according to the firm’s monthly report.
