Oregon Invests $300 Million In Alternatives

Oregon Investment Council puts $300 million into growth alternative investment and private equity program.

Oregon Investment Council has put $200 million into a growth alternative investment, Sanders Capital Value Fund, Pensions & Investments reports. Oregon has also invested $100 million in a customized secondary private equity program, managed by its private equity consultant, Pacific Corporate Group.

The Sanders fund is the first launched by Sanders Capital, set up by Lewis Sanders, ex-Chairman and CEO of AllianceBernstein. Oregon, which manages the $51.5 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, had committed $200 million to the AllianceBernstein Deep Value Fund in July 2008.
