“Thomas Henkelmann Restaurant is part of the Homestead Inn in Greenwich. It serves some of the best food in southern Connecticut, with outstanding service and a beautiful New England country inn setting. You’re served by an army of waiters, each one performing a different task. The nicest part is around the holidays, when there are fires lit in all of the small rooms.”

— Robert Hunkeler, director of investments, International Paper Co.

“Locanda Cipriani in Torcello, Italy. It’s a jewel of a destination, and you have to take a water taxi from Venice to get there. The gardens are beautiful, and it’s a complete escape from reality. I love the black squid linguine or risotto, and I love to pretend that I’m going back hundreds of years in time.”

— Jeffrey Kang, chairman & CEO, Chinese technology company COGO

“The Club Jin Mao at the Grand Hyatt in Shanghai, one of the tallest hotels in the world — and long before Hyatt became a client a few months ago. There’s nothing like the views of the Huangpu River and the Bund from Pudong. I always order the soup dumplings — the best I’ve found in the city — and then end the evening with a nightcap at Cloud Nine, with 360-degree views on the 87th floor.”

— Dave Senay, CEO, Fleishman-Hillard
