Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev, is seeking to set up a $10 billion state-backed private equity fund, Financial Times reports. The fund is aimed at attracting global private equity groups and sovereign wealth funds.

The government will initially invest around $2 billion in the project and may increase the funding over time to $10 billion. It is not clear what rights the investors will have and how decisions will be made.
