Belarus is seeking $3 billion in loans from Russia and its other former Soviet partners.

Belarus is seeking $3 billion in loans from Russia and its other former Soviet partners, Bloomberg reports. The country has asked for a $1 billion loan from Russia and a $2 billion loan from the anti-crisis fund set up by the Eurasian Economic Community. The loans would be conditioned on structural reforms to its Soviet-style centrally controlled economy and on privatization, adds Reuters. Belarus is also seeking to sell a stake in its potash miner, Belaruskali.
