Greenlight Surged in May

The value-driven hedge fund is still down by double-digits this year.

David Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital posted a badly needed gain in May.

The self-styled value-driven, long-short equity manager surged 7.4 percent for the month, cutting its loss for the year to 16.6 percent.

Even so, Greenlight continues to greatly lag the major market indexes. The Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index surged 7.6
