Hedge fund manager Kenneth Tropin is surrounded by millionaires. Last year houses in his hometown of New Canaan, Connecticut, sold for a median price of $1.6 million, and nearby Greenwich had a median sales price of $1.7 million. Not everyone, however, is sharing in the wealth.
