The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) is expecting to list fixed income exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in 2011, Investor Daily reports. The ASX has filed with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) for the same.
The exchange is expecting to get approval for a new ETF definition later in 2011. Until now, debt-based ETFs have not been able to list on the ASX as its ETF definition only focused on Australian-listed securities.
