Stanford University Department of Bioengineering has established a $20 million endowment, Stanford School Of Medicine reports. The Wallace H Coulter Foundation and the office of University President, John Hennessy, have each contributed $10 million.

The endowment will help support the translation of ideas that address unmet medical needs into treatments and devices that improve human health. Coulter Foundation had previously awarded a $5 million grant to Stanford to establish the Coulter grant program, which funded over 25 projects in a five-year period.
