JPM Alone Escaped Failure Risk

JPMorgan Chase appears to be the only one of the 13 largest financial institutions in the U.S. that was not at risk of failure during the financial crisis, according to a report by the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, reports The Wall Street Journal.

Ben Bernanke, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, is quoted in the report as saying the other 12 financial institutions were “a week or two” away from possible failure .The report stated that after the collapse of Lehman Brothers Holdings in September 2008, Morgan Stanley was one of the most vulnerable banks.
