These Hedge Funds Get Sweet Gains

At least three prominent hedge funds enjoyed large paper profits from Sweetgreen’s IPO on Thursday.

Sweetgreen may be the name of a fast-food salad chain.

But it also describes how its prominent hedge fund investors probably feel after shares of Sweetgreen soared Thursday on their first day of trading following the company’s initial public offering.

Sweetgreen had priced the IPO at $28 a share, well above its anticipated range of $23 to $25 per share.
