It’s back to the drawing board for Balyasny Asset Management’s systematic strategy, for which the firm previously had high hopes.

Earlier this month Ulrich Brandt-Pollmann, head of systematic strategies, left the multistrategy firm founded by Dmitry Balyasny. The move comes as a growing number of “fundamental” hedge fund firms are embracing some sort of computer-driven strategy.
