One activist’s trash is another activist’s treasure.

This, at least, is the case with Bayer AG, the German life sciences company that last year made an ill-fated acquisition of agricultural giant Monsanto. That company has suffered a slew of lawsuits alleging that its Roundup weed killer causes cancer, leading its stock to sink.
