Many industry pros have long felt if a hedge fund performed well, investors would come. The notion was that it is the quintessential democratic industry — assets will flow to the top performers and leave the worst performers.

This is, apparently, the conclusion that data and research firm Preqin wants readers to come away with in its latest monthly report detailing hedge fund inflows and outflows.
