Jerrold Mitchell has a thing about absolutes.

Following a 26-year career as a portfolio manager at Wellington Management Co., Mitchell enrolled in 1995 as a Ph.D. candidate in comparative religion at Harvard University. Six years later he earned his doctorate, as well as a master of divinity degree from the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
