In September, Sun Microsystems, desperate to regain lost glory as premier technology supplier to the financial services industry, launched a promotional campaign to “take back Wall Street.” Since many big banks have chosen Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems over Sun’s Solaris in recent years, it’s an uphill battle, to say the least.
