Almost 70 percent of institutional investors responding to our latest InvestorForum survey believe short-sellers perform a useful market function. Although nearly 60 percent of respondents think naked shorting -- selling short shares of a company without first determining that the securities can be borrowed -- is potentially dangerous, 38 percent say the current level of regulation for short-sellers is sufficient.*
