Newland Is Latest in a String of Hedge Fund Shutdowns

The firm, launched in 2007 by a pair of former Balyasny PMs, faced falling performance and a run of redemption requests.

Another hedge fund firm is shutting down in what is becoming something of a trend.

New York–based Newland Capital Management closed its hedge fund at the end of last year and is returning all client money by the end of this month, according to people with knowledge of the firm.
