Hedge Funds Slow to Adopt Future Technologies

A few firms have taken steps this year to boost their use of machine learning and artificial intelligence, but a new survey shows adoption of these technologies by hedge funds hasn’t caught up to the hype.

Despite the success of firms like D.E. Shaw, Renaissance Technologies, Two Sigma, and other computer-driven shops, hedge fund firms are seemingly moving at a deliberate pace to integrate machine learning and artificial intelligence.
