Ziggy Marley takes on debt

Reggae star Ziggy Marley, son of the legendary Bob Marley, has joined the fight as well. Marley and his band, the Melody Makers, have contributed music to Life and Debt, a documentary that argues that Jamaica has been devastated by its indebtedness to the International Monetary Fund.

Proceeds from the sound track CD , including Marley songs “G-7" (“These countries want to stay on top . . . To them, third-world people life is but a small price to be paid”) and “Globalization” , go to his charitable organization, Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment, or Urge. The film,s producer and director, Stephanie Black, says of Marley, “He’s an angel.”
