Tousignant logs off

Though James Tousignant will still be toiling on Internet projects, he’s leaving the dot-com world far behind.

The former president of 500-person investment research network Multex.com has joined giant Morgan Stanley Dean Witter to oversee business development and e-commerce in its asset management division. Tousignant, who will report to both asset management chief Mitch Merin and private client group head John Schaefer, says the job was “too good to pass up.” Says Merin: “We need to learn about the New Economy and adapt to it. We’re asking him to be a pied piper.
