The finance minister of Thailand has suggested that the nation use parts of its $189 billion foreign reserves to create a sovereign wealth fund.

The finance minister of Thailand has suggested that the nation use parts of its $189 billion foreign reserves to create a sovereign wealth fund, Financial Times reports. Thirachai Phuvanatnaranubala said the wealth fund will commit to regional infrastructure deals. He has called on the central bank to carry out a feasibility study. He also proposed that some of the money be used to finance Southeast Asia’s regional integration program.
