Rice Management Co., manager of the $3.8 billion endowment of the Rice University, Houston, has appointed Allison Thacker as president, Pensions & Investments reports. She will also be CIO, treasurer and vice president for investments for the university. Thacker will take over the responsibilities from Scott Wise, who left the university to become president and CIO of Covariance Capital Management, the outsourced CIO subsidiary of TIAA-CREF. Previously, Thacker was managing director and co-portfolio manager of RS growth group at RS Investments.
