Romania is seeking to raise $1.6 billion through a sale of leu currency bills and bonds in September.

Romania is seeking to raise $1.6 billion through a sale of leu currency bills and bonds in September, Reuters reports. The ministry is looking to sell $755 million in one-year paper and two tenders for six- and nine-month paper seeking to sell a combined $309 million.

It has also scheduled tenders for three-, five- and 10-year bonds seeking to raise a combined $549 million. The finance ministry raised $892 million in a debt issue in August.
