Intesa Sanpaolo To Raise $5.7B Via Loan Sale

Intesa Sanpaolo will sell non-performing loans worth $5.7 billion.

Intesa Sanpaolo will sell non-performing loans worth $5.7 billion, Reuters reports. The Italian retail bank is selling loans to reduce its balance sheets, improve capital ratios and reduce risk exposure.

Intesa has been in talks about the sale since April and has received interest from hedge funds and finance houses looking to buy the loans. The firm has not yet appointed any bank to manage the sale.
