Singapore PM To Chair GIC

The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation has appointed Singapore’s Prime Minister, Lee Loong, as Chairman.

The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) has appointed Singapore’s Prime Minister, Lee Loong, as Chairman, Bloomberg reports. Loong will replace his father, Lee Yew, at the $100 billion sovereign wealth fund.

Yew, who resigned on May 14, 2011, will be a senior adviser to the fund. The changes will be effective from June 1, 2011.
