Alcatel-Lucent made a €42 million cash contribution to its worldwide pension plans in the first quarter, Pensions & Investments reports. The French telecom company contributed €201 million in the last quarter of 2010.
The Paris-based company’s combined assets for pension and post-retirement benefit plans came down by 6% to €26 billion for the quarter ended March 31. Alcatel-Lucent’s funded status increased to 100% from 98.2% in the same period.
