BlackRock: EM ETFs Get $246.4B Assets In Q1

ETFs/ETPs offering exposure to emerging and frontier markets indices reached about $246.4 billion in assets at the end of the first quarter of 2011, according to BlackRock’s Emerging Market ETFs Industry Review.

ETFs/ETPs offering exposure to emerging and frontier markets indices reached about $246.4 billion in assets at the end of the first quarter of 2011, according to BlackRock’s Emerging Market ETFs Industry Review, ETF Express reports. The 549 ETFs/ETPs launched in the period gathered $3.9 billion of net inflows year-to-date. ETFs/ETPs tracking Russian equity indices got $1.3 billion, while ETFs/ETPs tracking Chinese equity indices received $1 billion. ETFs/ETPs received $50.3 billion net inflows for the full year 2010, in which ETFs/ETPs tracking global emerging market equity indices got $28.8 billion and ETFs/ETPs tracking Chinese equity indices got $3.8 billion.
