The Belarus central bank has eased its regulations on the exchange rate of the Belarusian rouble for cash transactions between banks or exchange points and individuals.

The Belarus central bank has eased its regulations on the exchange rate of the Belarusian rouble for cash transactions between banks or exchange points and individuals, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Belarusian retail ruble exchange rate for individuals is 23% less than the official central bank rate.

The retail rates were previously allowed to fluctuate in a smaller band, as compared to the official rate. In April 2011, the regulator started allowing corporate customers to convert currency outside the trading band.
