The London Metal Exchange (LME) is mulling on setting up its own clearing house. The exchange will soon start talks with the shareholders, members and other stakeholders.

With the move, LME will be able to gain control over the launch of new products, adds Financial Times. Currently, it depends on LCH.Clearnet for clearing new products. LME will also be able to internalize clearing revenues that currently accrue to LCH.Clearnet.
