FM: Mexico May Raise Dollar Option Size

Mexico may raise the size of monthly dollar option auctions, according to Mexican finance minister, Ernesto Cordero.

Mexico may raise the size of monthly dollar option auctions, according to Mexican finance minister, Ernesto Cordero, Bloomberg reports. The Latin American nation auctions around $600 million in dollar options every month to boost reserves.

The program takes dollars out of the market and eases appreciation pressure on the Mexican currency, peso. He further added that the officials will not intervene directly in the peso market.
