More SEC Trouble For Freddie Mac
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission appears to be deepening its investigation of Freddie Mac, reports The Wall Street Journal.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission appears to be deepening its investigation of Freddie Mac. The government-sponsored enterprise said Donald Bisenius, executive v.p. in charge of single-family credit guarantees, has received a Wells notice from the SEC, shortly following receipt of a notice by Anthony Piszel, the agencys former cfo who left in 2008. While Freddie Macs filing with the SEC did not offer details about allegations, observers believe the notices stem from a 2008 SEC investigation into whether the agency has violated federal securities laws.
