Pension funds have expressed concern that central clearing could have a negative impact on their bottom lines. Without an exemption from the clearing, they argue, pension funds could see a drag on their income from additional costs related to meeting the requirement. Also, pension funds that use derivatives for hedging would be required to set aside additional assets to be available as collateral.
