Yale University professors, Geert Rouwenhorst and Gary Gorton, have set up a new investment firm, Bloomberg reports. The duo has teamed up with Ashraf Rizvi, the former head of commodities trading at UBS, to start SummerHaven Investment Management.
The Connecticut-based firm will focus on futures linked to physical commodities in metals, energy, grains and livestock along with coffee, cocoa, cotton, sugar and orange juice. SummerHaven may provide managed futures accounts, exchange-traded and mutual funds and also private funds.
