Goldman Sachs has hired Andrew Bristow, head of asset-backed securities trading at HSBC in London. Bristow, who covered both cash and synthetics at HSBC, was on gardening leave and did not immediately return an email or cell phone message. Mitchell Resnick, executive director and head of structured products syndicate at Goldman in London, declined comment on his start date, title and the reason for his hire.

Malcolm Wallis, HSBC spokesman in London, said Bristow reported to Ken O’Brien, global head of credit trading, and has been replaced by Alex Harrison, who had been working with Bristow.
