BEIJING – UK asset management firm Pictet became the 18th foreign institutional investor granted the QFII status this year by China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), bringing the total number of foreign firms with QFII status in China to 52. ?So far 40 QFIIs have been given a combined QFII quota of 8.245 billion US dollars.
?The issuance of the “Regulation on the Managing QFIIs’ Securities Investments within China” last month is said to have significantly lowered the threshold for QFII investments in China. (CM)
