Mortgage lending in the U.K. slipped in April to its lowest level in two years, while lending to businesses also contracted, according to the British Bankers’ Association, reports Financial Times.

The BBA said mortgage approvals at 29,355 were about 2,000 fewer than in March, but only 600 below the six-month average. It also reported that remortgaging activity has hit a level not seen since January 2010.
