The loan will be released through the Eurasian Economic Community, a six-nation group led by Russia, adds BBC News. The country has also been asked by Putin to undertake economic reforms and privatize state companies. The move is likely to see Russia take controlling stakes in strategic assets, such as oil refineries and pipelines.
