The House Agriculture Committee has voted to delay the July 21 deadline for developing rules governing derivatives rules for 18 months. Rep. Frank Lucas (R-Okla.), who chairs the committee, said extending the deadline “doesn’t water the bill down and it’s not a kill tactic” but it gives more time to write rules and avoid potentially unintended consequences.
