Duke Endowment Grants $2M To Furman Univ.

Charlotte-based private foundation Duke Endowment has gifted $2 million to the South Carolina–based Furman University.

Charlotte-based private foundation Duke Endowment has gifted $2 million to the South Carolina–based Furman University. The grant will help develop the university’s fine arts program and build a partnership with the Peace Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Greenville.

The Furman Fine Arts Initiative aims to support the university’s students and faculty and make available the university’s academic and cultural opportunities to the surrounding community. Duke’s gift is the largest single endowment till date to the university’s fine arts division.
