When Viking Global Investors posted a nearly 8 percent loss in its long-short fund, Viking Global Equities, in the first quarter, the Tiger Cub knew it couldn’t stand pat.

Yes, the loss wasn’t as bad as those suffered by fellow Tiger Cubs and other tech funds, many of which reported double-digit declines.
