When Balance Asset Management launched in January 2006, the firm’s founders had solid credentials, state-of-the-art back-office capabilities and a unique investment strategy. What they didn’t have was funding. The Balance Asset Fund International began trading with just $10 million under management and, despite first-year net returns of 16 percent, its assets have only recently reached $150 million.
