Punk stock

Joey Ramone may be gone, but the legendary punk rocker’s love of stocks - and Maria Bartiromo - lives on.

Ten months after the singer died from lymphatic cancer at age 49, his final album, Don’t Worry About Me, has been released, featuring a wailing tribute to the CNBC Money Honey. “I watch you on the TV every single day,” Ramone sings on the “Maria Bartiromo” track. “Those eyes make everything okay/I watch her every day/I watch her every night/She’s really outta sight/Maria Bartiromo.” Ramone became a Bartiromo aficionado in the mid-1990s, when he became fascinated by stocks. “Joey was totally enthralled and obsessed with the stock market,” says longtime producer Daniel Rey. “He woke up every morning at 5 a.m. to watch the chat shows, so I guess he developed a little crush on her.”
