A blue cow stalks Ed Peter

Instead, they gave him a cow, actually a life-size bovine sculpture in Deutsche’s corporate color: blue. Peter, 37, is sure the 110-pound cow, discovered at an art exhibition, was intended to give him a souvenir of Switzerland that was “as much of a pain in the rear to haul around as possible.”

Instead, they gave him a cow, actually a life-size bovine sculpture in , what else? , Deutsche’s corporate color: blue. Peter, 37, is sure the 110-pound cow, discovered at an art exhibition, was intended to give him a souvenir of Switzerland that was “as much of a pain in the rear to haul around as possible.”

Peter’s considerate co-workers did, however, arrange to ship the cow to Asia for him. Unfortunately, they sent it to Singapore, thinking that was where he was bound. The local Deutsche office then helpfully sent the cow on to Peter’s winery , in Australia,s Borossa Valley. A vacationing Peter was more than happy to leave the vagabond cow behind when he set off for his new post, but another set of “friends” decided to forward it to him in Hong Kong.

Today the cow enjoys a splendid view of Hong Kong’s harbor from a corner of Deutsche’s 55th-floor trading room in Cheung Kong Center. Sighs Peter, “It has a nasty habit of showing up wherever I am.”
