‘Oh, concierge, I’m doing a deal, can you walk the dog?’

Corporate concierge services have arrived in London.

Starting next month UBS’s 6,500 U.K. employees will be able (for a modest monthly deduction) to get help walking their dogs, taking their kids to school, dropping off their laundry and carrying out other of the quotidian chores that can be so distracting to busy professionals.

UBS has hired Enviego, a service set up in London 18 months ago by Englishman Tom Shorten, 31. Shorten got hooked on the mollycoddled corporate life when he worked in the U.S. for Deutsche Bank, which offers concierge service in New York (but not yet in London).

Employees, requests to Enviego mostly involve assistance with the mundane annoyances of everyday life, says Shorten, whose 49-person company also offers a 24-hour health line. But he has on occasion been presented with special challenges. ,We once shipped a bed to London from a New York hotel room for a couple who enjoyed a particularly good stay,, he says. Even more impressive, Enviego arranged a London wedding with 40 guests , on 24 hours, notice.
