South Korea is planning to spend $31 billion by 2020 on renewable and nuclear energy technology and carbon emissions reduction.

South Korea is planning to spend $31 billion by 2020 on renewable and nuclear energy technology and carbon emissions reduction, Bloomberg reports. The country is looking to develop alternative and nuclear energy capabilities.

It is eying a 10 percent share in the world’s clean-energy market and plans to have one of the world’s top five energy industries by 2020. The world’s ninth-largest greenhouse gas emitting country will finance its project by funding from the government and private companies.
