Myanmar has permitted some private banks to trade foreign currencies in the commercial city of Yangon.

Myanmar has permitted some private banks to trade foreign currencies in the commercial city of Yangon, Reuters reports. Five private banks will be allowed to open money changer counters in Yangon. The counters will be used to purchase, sell and change foreign currencies, mainly the euro, dollars and foreign exchange certificates initially. The banks will open five counters.
