THIRD TEAM

Saul Martinez & team  J.P. Morgan

Down one notch to third place is the J.P. Morgan threesome guided by New York–based Saul Martinez. In January the team upgraded the American depositary receipts of BanColombia from underweight to overweight, dubbing them a bargain at $58.58. The analysts downgraded the Medellín, Colombia–based lender’s ADRs to neutral in April after they had risen nearly 11 percent, to $64.97, at a time when the sector slipped 1.1 percent. BanColombia’s ADRs ended July at $66.30, a gain of 2 percent that shot past the sector by 13.2 percentage points. “Martinez is smart and extremely attentive to client service,” opines one buy-side backer.
