Thomson Reuters has acquired Chicago-based crop forecaster Lanworth, Reuters reports. The move comes as Reuters is looking to expand its commodity analytics group. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. Lanworth, which has 22 employees, will continue to operate independently at least until the end of 2011 before being combined with Reuters.
